Whether you are a fan of counting calories or not, it is a fact that if you are looking to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit. Basically, your body needs to burn more calories than you consume.
For most people, it helps to calculate exactly how many calories they consume. However, not all foods are the same – quality matters.

Adding salmon to your diet is fantastic as it’s a great source of healthy fats and protein. But there is a vast difference between wild and farmed salmon.
Wild salmon has less calories and less fat than farmed salmon. It generally also has better nutrients than its counterpart. Farmed salmon is not only higher in calories and fat, it also has a higher number of toxins due to the poor living conditions and higher exposure to diseases that the fish live in.
Even though choosing salmon is better for your health, the type you choose can also be just as important.
It’s important that you are aware of what you are consuming.
